“Who is the one who yearns for life and desires to see good days?”
Rule of St. Benedict
Prologue: 15
Benedictine hospitality has been the gift of St. Benedict for many centuries to those who seek peace.
The Benedictine Sisters of St. Walburg Monastery continue that tradition of hospitality by welcoming you to our Guest House and Hermitage. This reflective space provides for individuals or small groups to join in the monastic horarium.
You may want to come for a private or self-directed retreat or want one of the Sisters to provide spiritual direction. You may be interested in a “place away” to meet with groups for a weekend or a single day of prayer and reflection. Our hospitality invites our guests into the rhythm of life in the monastery. You are invited to our daily prayers of Liturgy of the Hours.
Our Guest House
The Collins house was built in the late 1880s and was purchased by the Sisters in 1903. This historical home has served as classrooms, dorms, and a chapel.
We offer accommodations for groups (16 or less) and individuals for day or overnight gatherings/retreats. This three-story house has ten bedrooms. Four rooms offer one twin bed, one offers one queen-size bed and five have two twin beds. There is no elevator, smoking or pets.

Heartfelt gratitude for the joy of being in this sacred place after seventeen years away from Kentucky. Gracious living, lovely surroundings. The peace that only this spot can give, and feeling in community with the Benedictine Sisters. What a splendid retreat!

Thank you for the warmth of hospitality of the St. Walburg community. Prayers and meals with the Benedictine Sisters are terrific. The quiet and beauty of the property was amazing. Our first trip here. We hope to come again.

Thank you so, so much for the opportunity to spend a few days here in your guest house. It was just what I needed for a time of reflections, solitude, and prayer. The hospitality afforded me was so very much appreciated. I plan to come again, Lord willing. I will keep your community in my prayers, and you all please remember me. Thank you.

Thank you, peaceful as always. I especially enjoyed prayer with the Sisters for evening prayer. Hearing hymns and chant in one voice is so special to me.
